Given:
Volume of gold = 1.1 cm³
Volume of gold = 1.1 × 1000 mm³ = 1100mm³
[ 1cm³ = 1000 mm³]
Diameter of the wire = 0.1mm
Radius= Diameter/2 = 0.1 /2 =0.05 mm
Let the length of a wire h mm.
Volume of wire (Cylinder) = πr²h
Volume of gold = Volume of wire
[Volume of gold is melted and drawn into a wire of diameter 0.1 mm]
1100 = 22/7 × (0.05)²× h
1100= 22/7× 0.05 × 0.05 × h
h = (1100 × 7) / (22× 0.05 × 0.05)
h = 7700 / 22 ×0 .0025
h = 77000000/ 550= 140000 mm
h = 140000/1000 = 140m
[ 1 mm = 1/1000 m]
Hence, the length of the wire= 140 m

Answer:

Volume of gold = 1.1 cm³

Volume of gold = 1.1 × 1000 mm³ = 1100mm³

( 1cm³ = 1000 mm³)

Diameter of the wire = 0.1mm

Radius= Diameter/2 = 0.1 /2 =0.05 mm

Let the length of a wire h mm.

Volume of wire (Cylinder) = πr²h

Volume of gold = Volume of wire

(Volume of gold is melted and drawn into a wire of diameter 0.1 mm)

1100 = 22/7 × (0.05)²× h

1100= 22/7× 0.05 × 0.05 × h

h = (1100 × 7) / (22× 0.05 × 0.05)

h = 7700 / 22 ×0 .0025

h = 77000000/ 550= 140000 mm

h = 140000/1000 = 140m

( 1 mm = 1/1000 m)

Hence, the length of the wire= 140 m
