Step-by-step explanation:

The perimeter of a rectangle is 36 m. The length is 3 m more than twice the width. Find the dimensions.

Step 1. The perimeter P means adding up all the four sides of a rectangle.

Step 2. Let w be the width.

Step 3. Let 2w+3 be the length since it is 3 more than twice the width

Step 4. Then, P=w+w+2w+3+2w+3=36.

Step 5. Solving yields the following steps

This is an equation! Solutions: w=5.

Graphical form: Equation  was fully solved.

Text form: w+w+2w+3+2w+3=36 simplifies to 0=0

Here is your answer.

1) GIVEN:-

Perimeter of rectangle is 36 cm

TO FIND:-

Length and Breadth

SOLUTION:-

Let breadth be x cm

Said that, length is twice than breadth

∴ Length = 2x

To find the length and breadth, we will use the formula of Perimeter of rectangle

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

☛ 36 = 2(2x + x)

☛ 36 = 2(3x)

☛ 36 = 6x

Dividing both the sides by 6, we get

☛ x = 6

∴ Breadth = x cm

= 6cm

∴ Length = 2x cm

= 2 × 6

= 12 Cm

2) SOLUTION :-

Let the Number be x

4 is Added to the Number = 4 + x

the sum is multiplied by 3 = 3x + 4

Result is 13

3x + 4 = 13

3x = 13 - 4

3x = 9

x = 9/3

x = 3.

3) SOLUTION :-

Let the number be x

(x/2)+(x/3) = 15

by taking the LCM on the left hand side it becomes-

(x+5x)/5 = 15

6x = 15 × 5 (changing the side from left to right will also change its sign from division to multiplication)

6x = 75

x = 75/6

x = 12.5
