Answer:

The process of producing induced current in a closed circuit or in a coil by changing the magnetic field linked with the coil is known as electromagnetic induction.

This produced voltage causes a current to flow through the conductor which is called Induced current.

Electromagnetic induction can be achieved by varying the magnetic flux associated with the conductor.

Two ways of varying magnetic flux:

1)The conductor moves in a magnetic field.

2)The conductor is placed (not moving) in a varying(changing) magnetic fiction.

Electromagnetic or magnetic induction is the production of an electromotive force across an electrical conductor in a changing magnetic field. Michael Faraday is generally credited with the discovery of induction in 1831, and James Clerk Maxwell mathematically described it as Faraday's law of induction.

If a magnet is moved towards or away from a coil of wire connected to a galvanometer, the galvanometer needle shows a deflection. This shows that current is induced in the coil due to the motion of the magnet.

Fleming's Right hand rule - If the fore finger, second (central) finger and thumb of the right hand are stretched at right angles to each other, with the forefinger in the direction of the field, the thumb in the direction of the motion of the wire then the induced current in the wire is in the direction of the coil .
