To find:

नये घन की भुजा की लम्बाई ज्ञात करो।​

What will be the side of the new cube?

Solution:

We know,

\boxed{\bold{Volume \:of\:a\:cube = side^3}}

The side of the solid cube = 14 cm

∴ The volume of the solid cube = side³ = 14³ = 2744 cm³

Let "a" cm be the side of each of the 8 small cubes.

The solid cube is cut into 8 small cubes of equal volumes

So,

[Volume of solid cube] = 8 × [Volume of 1 small cube]

⇒ 2744 = 8 × [Volume of 1 small cube]

⇒ Volume of 1 small cube = \frac{2744}{8}

⇒ Volume of 1 small cube = 343 cm³

⇒ a³ = 343

⇒ a = ∛343

a = 7 cm

Thus, the side of the new cube will be → 7 cm.
