Solution:

  • The ratio, can also be written as 1/15.
  • Therefore, any number equivalent to 1/15 can also be same.
  • For Example:
  1. 1×3/15×3 = 3/45 i.e. 3:45
  2. 1×100/15×100 = 100/1500 i.e. 100:1500.
  • Hence, you can use anything in place of that but, it should be same.

User's Doubt:

How to make a fraction equivalent?

My Answer:

To make it equivalent, multiply the numerator and denominator with same number. Let us take a example of 4/8.

Example: 4×4/8×4 = 16/32.

Hence, 16/32 is equivalent to 16/32.

\frac{1}{15}=\frac{1*2}{15*2}=\frac{2}{30} \\\\\frac{1}{15}=\frac{1*3}{15*3}=\frac{3}{45}\\ \\

Generally, for any real number n other than 0,

\frac{1}{15}=\frac{1*n}{15*n}
