Answer:

The cost of cleaning the pillars is 1188 Rs

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Diameter of pillar, D= 84 cm = 0.84 m

            Height of pillar = 6 m

           No of pillars = 150

rate of cleaning = 50 p per m²

Solution : The shape of pillars is cylindrical and cleaning to be done for

               lateral surface area.

              Lateral surface of pillar = π x D x H

                                                     = 22/7 x 0.84 x 6

                                                     = 22 x 0.12 x 6

                                                     = 15.84 m²

Total lateral surface area = no of pillars x area of one pillar

                                                         = 150 x 15.84

                                                         = 2376 m²

The cost of cleaning = total lateral surface area x rate

                                  = 2376 x 50

                                  = 118800 p

                                  = 1188 Rs
