we \: know \:  \\  {x}^{2}  -  {y }^{2}  = (x + y)(x - y) \\ so \: \:  ( {1.19}^{2} -  {0.09}^{2}  ) \\  = (1.19 + 0.09)(1.19 - 0.09) \\  = (1.28)(1.10) \\  = 1.408
