Because 2 ^-1 = ½ as when the exponential no. is negative of any number the no. is converted into fraction with numerator as 1

For example ;2^ -2 so it will be 1/ 2² or 1/4

Hence 1/2 =0.5

And multiplying by 1 there the number will be itself only

so 1 × 2^-1 =0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

1×2^{-1} =0.5

L.H.S \:  = 1 \times  {2}^{ - 1}

 =  {2}^{ - 1}

 =  \frac{1}{2}

 = 0.5
