Given -

 \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{1}{3}

To find -

The value of  \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{1}{3}

Solution -

In the addition of fraction number it is important that the denominator of the given fractions should be same.

To get same denominators take LCM of all the denominator values.

LCM 2 and 3 is 6.

So,

Multiply 1/2 by 3/3 and 1/3 by 2/2 we get

 =  \frac{3}{6}  +  \frac{2}{6}

 =  \frac{3 + 2}{6}

 =  \frac{5}{6}

To convert this fraction into decimal divide 5 by 6 we get,

 = 0.83

Hence,

The value of  \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{1}{3} is  \frac{5}{6} .
