sn = n ( a + last term ) / 2
sn = 100 ( 1 + 100 ) / 2
sn = 50 × 101
=> 5050

The series u have provided is in the form of an AP having it's first term as 1,last term as 100 and common difference as (2-1)=1......
So, according to formula, we have :-
Sum of n terms of an AP =n/2*(a+l)
=100/2*(1+100)
=50*101
=5050
