Cleary the above series is an A.P with first term, a=1 and common difference, d=1.
∴, S₁₀₀=100/2[2.1+(100-1)1] [∵,  S_{n}= \frac{n}{2}[2a+(n-1)d]  ]
=50×(2+99)
=50×101
=5050
