Given:

To draw a picture Samir need 2/5th of an hour and Mita need an hour

To find:

(i) How much time they individually need to draw the picture?

(ii) Who will take a longer time and by how much?

Solution:

We know,

\boxed{\bold{1 \:hour = 60\:minutes}}

(i). Finding individual time needed to draw the picture:

The time needed by Samir to draw a picture is,

=   \frac{2}{5}th\: of\: an\: hour

=   \frac{2}{5} \times 60

=  2 \times 12

= 24\:minutes

and

The time needed by Mita to draw the same picture is,

=   1 \:hour

=  60\:minutes

Thus, Samir takes 24 minutes to draw a picture and Mita takes 60 minutes to draw the same picture.

(ii). Finding who takes a longer time:

From the above calculations, we can conclude that

Mita takes longer time than Sameer to draw a picture

(iii). Finding the time difference between Sameer and Mita:

The difference in the time is,

= 60 minutes - 24 minutes

= 36 minute s

Thus, Mita takes 36 minutes more than Sameer to draw a picture.
