Padma or locally known as Podda is a major river in Bangladesh and India. It is one of the largest and major distributors of the Ganges, which usually flows southeast for 120 kilometres to its confluence with the Meghna River near the Bay of Bengal
The river originates from the Kailash ranges of Himalayas at an elevation of 5300 M. After flowing through Tibet it enters India through Arunachal Pradesh and flows through Assam and Bangladesh before it joins Bay of Bengal.
The Gomti, Gumti or Gomati River is a tributary of the Ganges.
