Given :  A box weighing 2 kg  put on floor with dimension 0.6 m * 0.5 m * 0.15 m

To Find :  minimum pressure that the box can exert on the floor

maximum pressure that the box will exert on the floor

Solution:

Pressure = Force / Area

Force = mg  = 2 * 10  = 20 N

A =  0.6 *  0.5  = 0.3 m²   , 0.6 * 0.15  = 0.09 m²  ,  0.5*0.15 =  0.075 m²

Depending upon orientation

Pressure  will be minimum when area is maximum

minimum pressure =  20 / 0.3   =  200/3  Pa

maximum pressure =  20 / 0.075   = 800/3  Pa

answers in part (a) and (b) are different as contact area is different in both cases

If Box is put on the table then contact area with floor will be foot of table hence pressure can not be calculated as foot base dimensions are not given but pressure will be same in each case  as contact area with floor does not change.
