Hence,

  • a (first term) = 1
  • d (common difference) = 3 - 1 = 2

We know that,

Sum of first n terms of an AP (Sn) = n/2 * [2a + (n - 1)d]

Hence,

→ S(15) = (15/2) * [ 2(1) + (15 - 1)(2) ]

→ S(15) = 15/2 * (2 + 28)

→ S(15) = 15/2 * 30

→ S(15) = 225

Hence, the sum of first 15 terms of the given series is 225.
