According to question

Number of boys particiating
=100
number of girls

participating=300-100=200


Now let the number of boys in school be
Then 1/3 of x=100

[given}
1/3*x=100
x=300

So the number of boys is 300

Now let the number of girls in school be y
then 1/2 of y=200

{given}
1/2*y=200
y=400

So the number of girls is 400

Now total number of students= 400+300
= 700 ans
