⇒ We know that, if the bases of any exponent are same, we must solve the powers;

 \tt{( - 4 {)}^{2} \div ( - 4 {)}^{3} } \\  \\  \tt{ = ( - 4 {)}^{2 - 3} } \\  \\  \tt{( - 4 {)}^{ - 1} }
