Solution For 1:

Given,

5x + 7y = 17 \\  = >  x =  \frac{17 - 7y}{5}   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:........(i)

3x - 2y = 4

On substituting Value of x

3 \times  \frac{17 - 7y}{5}  - 2y = 4 \\  =  >  \frac{51 - 21y - 10y}{5}  = 4 \\  =  > 51 - 31y = 20 \\  =  > 31 - 31y = 0 \\  =  > 1 - y = 0 \\  =  > y = 1

Therefore,

x =  \frac{17 - 7 \times 1}{5}  \\  =  > x = 2

Solution For 2:

Given,

x - 2y =  - 10 \\  =  > x = 2y - 10

3x - 5y =  - 12 \\  =  > 3 \times (2y - 10) - 5y =  - 12 \\  =  > 6y - 30 - 5y =  - 12 \\  =  > y = 18

Therefore,

x = 2 \times 18 - 10 \\  =  > x = 26
