total no . of students in the class = 48

no . of students who are A.A = 1/6×48=8

no . of students who are A    = 1/4×48=12

no . of students who are B.A = 48-8+12=48-20=28

total no . of students who are below average =  1-1/6+1/4

                                                               = 1-5/12

                                                                = 7/12

      no . of students who are below average = 7/12×48

                                                                ⇒ 28 .
