let water is x parts then,
(x + 12) + x = 60
2x = 48
x = 24l.

milk = x + 12 = 36 l
ratio = 24/36 = 2/3

now new ratio when 10 l water is added
= 34/36 = 17/18.

\underline{SOLUTION}

LET,

PART OF WATER IN THE MIXTURE = X LITRES

•°• PART OF MILK IN THE MUXTURE = ( X + 12 ) LITRES

A.T.Q.,

X + ( X + 12 ) = 60

=> X + X + 12 = 60

=> 2X + 12 = 60

=> 2X = 60 - 12

=> 2X = 48

=> X = 48/2

=> X = 24

•°• PART OF WATER IN THE MIXTURE = 24 LITRES

AND,

PART OF MILK IN THE MIXTURE = ( 24 + 12 ) LITRES

= 36

NOW,

WHEN 10 LITRES WATER ADDED IN THE MIXTURE, THEN THE PART OF WATER WILL BE = ( 24 + 10 ) LITRES

= 34 LITRES

•°• THE NEW RATIO WILL BE = 34 : 36

= 17 : 18

\underline{ANSWER} ➡ 17 : 18
