Answer: 7

Steps: (3+√2)(3-√2)  [using (a+b)(a-b) = a^{2} - b^{2} ]

= 3^{2} - (\sqrt{2 } ) ^ {2}

= 9 - 2

= 7

Rationalising factor = (3 - \sqrt{2})
