If 1/8 part is damaged, then the remaining part is

x - x/8 = 7x/8

The man cuts 3/4 of 7x/8 = (3/4)×(7x/8) = length of the second part

=21x/32

Now put x=16

=21×16/32 = 21/2 = 10.5m Ans
