1. A 30 g bullet leaves a rifle with a velocity of
300 ms and the rifle recoils with a velocity of
0.60 ms. Find the mass of the rifle. (Ans. 15 kg)​

According to the problem the mass of the bullet m1, = 30 g = 0.03kg

Here we will use the idea of conservation of  momentum

We know conservation of momentum (P),

         P1 = P2

We know that P = m.v

So, m1v1=m2v2  [ m1= mass of the bullet v1= velocity of the bullet, v2= velocity of the rifile]

Therefore,

0.03 * 300 = m2 x 0.6

=> m2 = 15 kg.
