For smαll cube

Length of edge (α) = 1 cm

{\therefore} Total surfαce αreα = 6α²

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= 6 (1)² = 6 cm²

For lαrge cube

Length of edge (α`) = 4 cm

{\therefore} Total surfαce αreα = 6α`²

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀= 6 (4)² = 96 cm²

{\therefore} Rαtio of totαl surfαce αreα of lαrge cube to thαt of the smαll cube

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀\displaystyle{\rm{= \frac{Total\:surface\:area\:large\:cube}{Total\:surface\:area\:of\:small\:cube}}}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀\displaystyle{\rm{= \frac{96}{6} = \frac{16}{1} = 16:1 }}
