in place of 1/c there is 1/x

1/a+b+x = 1/a +1/b +1/x

1/a+b+x - 1/x = 1/a + 1/b

x-(a+b+x)/x(a+b+x) = a+b/ab

x- a-b-x/ x(a+b+x) = a+b/ab

-(a+b)/ x(a+ b + x) = a+b/ab

-1/ x(a+b+x) = 1/ ab

xa+ xb +x^2 = -ab

x^2 + xa +xb + ab= 0

taking common

x(x+a) +b (x+a)

(x+a) ,(x+b)

i.e,

x = -a or. x= -b
