(1) A bag contains in all 50 balls. Some of them are white, some are blue

and some are red. The number of white balls is 11 times the of blue balls. The number of red balls is less than the number of white

balls. Also, the number of red balls is more than the number of blue

balls. If one of the balls is selected at random from the bag, what is the

probability that it is red ?

(2) There are three dealers A, B and C in Maharashtra. Suppose, the trade

of each of them in september 2018 was as shown in the following table.

The rate of GST on each transaction was 5%.

Read the table and answer the questions below it.

The bag contains a total of 50 balls!

Let the total white balls be W

And the total red balls be R

And the total blue balls be B

The question is too simple ,

According to the question : -

W = 11 B

Also ,

R < W

And

R > B

Total balls = 50 = W + R + B

= 11B + R + B

= 12 B + R

If B = 5 then 12B = 60

which is not possible because total balls are only 50

So B < 5

Also if B = 4

12B = 48

Then R = 50 - 48 = 2

But this is not possible because R is given greater than B

If B = 3

Then 12B = 36

So

R = 50 - 36 = 14

This is a possible case

Because W > R > B

and here ,

33 > 14 > 3

If B = 2

Then 12B = 24

Then R = 50 - 24 = 25

Which is not possible because in this case R will become greater than W but in question W > R

So only possible case is : -

B = 3

W = 11B = 33

R = 50 - (33 + 3) = 14

If one ball is selected at random then probability to get red ball is : -

Total red balls / Total balls

= 14 / 50

= 7/25
