Answer:

10m/s

Explanation:

Use 3rd Equation of Motion for answer

V^2 - U^2 = 2AS

No mass is can be neglected as compared to earth's mass, the mass of ball is very minute.

Use equation of motion

v² - u² = 2aS

Where

v = Final velocity of ball

u = Initial velocity of ball

a = Acceleration of ball

S = Displacement covered by ball

g= 10m/s ²

In this case ball is dropped. So, u = 0

Our equation will become v = √(2aS)

Now, substitute the values

v = √(2 × 10 m/s² x 5 m)

= 10 m/s

Velocity with which it hits the ground is 10 m/s
