1. A balloon is ascending at the rate of 12.0 m/s at the 80.0 m above the ground when a package is dropped.
a) How long does it take the package to reach the ground?
b) With what speed does it hit the ground?

So, u = 12 m/s

v^2 = 2ah + u^2

v^2 = 2×-9.8×-80 + (12)^2

v^2 = 1560 +144

v^2 = 1704

v = under root 1704

v = 41.27

t = v - u / a

t = 14.27 - 12 / 9.8

t = 2.27 / 9.8

t = 0.23 sec
