2)A floor is 6.5 m long and 4m wide. a square carpet of side 3m is laid on the floor. find the area of the floor of the room.

1) 1 m 50 cm = 1.5 m

Area in square metres = (2 m)×(1.5 m)

= 3 m^2 or 3 square metres

2) Area of the floor = (6.5 m)× (4 m)

= 26 m^2
