Given :-

  • Length of box = 0.6m
  • Breadth of box = 0.8m
  • Height of box = 1m
  • Force = 20N

To Find :-

  • Pressure experienced by the table

Solution :-

Area of box = Area of cuboid

→ 2(lb + bh + lh)

→ 2(0.6 × 0.8 + 0.8 × 1 + 0.6 × 1)

→ 2(0.48 + 0.8 + 0.6)

→ 2 × 1.88

→3.76 m²

As we know that

→ Pressure = Force/Area

→ Pressure = 20/3.76

→ Pressure = 5.31 N/m²

Extra Information

  • S.I unit of pressure is N/m²(Pascal)
  • S.I unit of Force is Newton (N)
  • S.I unit of Area is m²
