1. A car covers a distance of 28.6 km in 2.2 litres of petrol. How much distance will it cover in one litre of petrol ?

  1. To find the distance covered in litre petrol will be 28.6/2.2 = 13km covered in 1 litre petrol.
  2. According to the figure attached ABC = ZYX
  • XY = CB
  • angle Y = angle B
  • ZX = AC

car uses 2.2 litres to cover 28.6 km

then by unitary method

car will use 1 litre of petrol to cover

(28.6÷2.2) km = 13km

28.6 \div 2.2 = 13
