if the wheel turns  through 2π radians or 360 deg, then the wheel travels/rolls a distance of  2 π R or  π * diameter.

Angle covered in radians =  distance travelled / Radius
             =  2 * R / R = 2 radians
       = 2 * 180 /π = 360 / π  degrees.
