Now, OC⊥AB

Then, AC=CB=2AB.......(i)....(perpendicular drawn from the centre of the circle to the chord bisects the chord)

Now, △ACO is right angled triangle at C

∴AC=(OA2−OC2)=(172−82)=(225)=15cm

Hence, AB=2×15=30cm ............ From (i)
