The focal length of convex mirror = 18cm

To Find:

The distance and nature of images formed at different locations.

Solutions:

The distance of the image formed is the object is placed 58cm in front of the concave mirror.

\frac{1}{f} = \frac{1}{v}+ \frac{1}{u}

So, v = 21.75cm behind the mirror.

Magnification of image, m = -\frac{v}{u}= \frac{I}{O}

So, size of the image = 7.25cm

And the image formed is virtual and erect.

2) Similarly, the image formed if the object is placed at a distance of 36cm in front of the mirror is 36 cm in front of the mirror. The image formed is of the same height as the object and is real and inverted.

3)The image formed if the distance of the object is 32cm in front of the mirror is 41.42cm in front of the mirror.

The image formed has a height of 5.14cm and is real and inverted.

4)The image is formed at a distance of 90cm behind the mirror if the object is placed 15cm in front of the mirror.

The image formed has a height of 60cm and is erect and virtual.

5) The image formed if the object is placed 15cm in front of the convex mirror of focal length 18cm is at a distance of 8.17cm behind the mirror.

The image formed is of height 32.2cm and is virtual and erect.
