✌ 1. A double convex lens of glass of refractive index 1.5 has its both surfaces of equal radius of curvature of 20 cm each. An object of height 5 cm is placed at a distance of 15 cm from the lens. Calculate size of image formed.
2.A converging lens has a focal length of 23 cm in air. It is made of a material of refractive index 1.5. It is immersed in a liquid of refractive index 1.2. Calculate its new focal length.

Answer:

A plane convex lens is plane on one side and convex on the other side; while the biconvex or double convex lens is curved in convex manner on both sides of the glass, as used in magnifying glass.
