Answer:

Question-Explain the electrochemical reaction and thermo chemical reaction.

Answer- In fact, all chemical reactions result from a shift in the electron structure of atoms, and free electrons can combine with particles of matter (reduction) or be released by them (oxidation). ... The substances that take part in electrochemical reactions, called electrolytes or ionic conductors, have been described above.

The answers are as follows:-

  1. Electrochemical reaction:- An electrochemical reaction is a reaction wherein electrons stream between a strong cathode and substance, as an electrolyte.
  2. Thermochemical reaction:- The reaction which deals with heat changes and the states of the reaction's components is a Thermochemical reaction.
  • i) Spoilage of food and vegetables:- The chemical changes observed here are foul odours, bad texture and taste.
  • ii) Rancidity of fishes and meat:- The chemical changes observed here are enzymatic browning, bad odour etc.
  • iii) Apples and fruits turn brown when we cut:- They turn brown due to oxidation reaction. The enzyme is polyphenol oxidase.
