\;\;\underline{\textbf{\textsf{Given:-}}}

\sf \ Speed_1= 6km/h

\sf \ Time_1= 2hours

\sf\ Speed_2= 4km/h

 \sf \ Time_2=3hours

\;\;\underline{\textbf{\textsf{To Find :-}}}

• Average speed

• Total distance

\;\;\underline{\textbf{\textsf{Solution :-}}}

\underline{\:\textsf{ We know that  :}}

\sf\ Speed = \dfrac{Distance }{Time}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow \sf S_1= \dfrac{d_1}{t_1}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow \sf 6= \dfrac{d_1}{2}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow \sf 12=d_1 ----eq(1)

\dashrightarrow \sf S_2= \dfrac{d_2}{t_2}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow \sf 4= \dfrac{d_2}{3}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow \sf 12=d_2----eq(2)

\underline{\:\textsf{ Therefore  :}}

• Total distance will be

= 12+12

= 24 km

\;\;\underline{\textbf{\textsf{ Hence-}}}

\underline{\textsf{  The distance travelled is </p><p>\textbf{ 24 km}}}.

Now, find the Average speed.

\underline{\:\textsf{As  We know that  :}}

\boxed{\sf\ Average \ speed = \dfrac{Total \ distance }{Total \ Time}}

\underline{\:\textsf{Putting the values   :}}

\dashrightarrow \sf Av. \ speed = \dfrac{d_1+d_2}{t_1+t_2}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow \sf Av. \ speed = \dfrac{24}{2+3}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow \sf Av.\ speed = \cancel{\dfrac{24}{5}}\\ \\ \dashrightarrow \sf Av.\ speed = 4.8km/h

\;\;\underline{\textbf{\textsf{ Hence-}}}

\underline{\textsf{  Average speed </p><p>\textbf{4.8 km/hr}}}.
