1)A hammer exerts a force of 1.5 N on each of the two nails A and B. The area of the cross section of the tip A is 2 mm^2 while that of nail B is 6 mm^2. Calculate the pressure on each nail.(Best answer with well explanation will be chosen as brainlist.)

On A,

force = 1.5 N

area = 2 mm^2

1 mm = 1/1000 m = 0.001m

1 mm^2 = 1 mm*1mm = 0.001 m * 0.001 m = 0.000001 m^2 = 10^-6 m^2

P = 1.5N/ (2*10^-6) m^2 = 7.5*10^5 Pa

on B,

P = 1.5N/(6*10^-6) m^2 = 2.5*10^5 Pa
