Once there was a hunter whose ill wife had to be taken care of. So, leaving their baby under the care of their trusted hound, he took his wife to another village. In their absence, the hound stood guard over the baby while he was sleeping.
Just then, he saw a wolf coming into the hut. He knew the wolf will harm the child so he fights the wolf and kills him, thus saving the baby from any harm.
Once the hunter returns, his first sight caught the baby's cot which was empty. Then, he further found blood stains on the floor and on the jaws of the hound. Without thinking further, he immediately killed the hound.
But when he entered the house, he saw the baby peacefully sleeping on the floor, still wrapped in his warm shawl. And nearby, he also saw the dead wolf which the hound had killed. The hound had moved the baby to the house in order to keep him safe. Upon realizing his misleading judgement, the hunter regrets his act and weeps bitterly for the dead hound.
