Solution:

(a) The name of the element A is carbon and element B is graphite.

(b) Graphite is a very good conductor of electricity. Though graphite is a non-metal, it is a good conductor. It has 3 valence electron which forms covalent bond and when the electric current is passed through it the electron becomes delocalised.

(a) As the element is changes red litmus to blue, E is basic in nature.

(b) The name of the element is lithium. When it combines with oxygen it form Li₂O. It is a soft and white metal. It is a alkali metal. It is the lightest metal in periodic table.
