Answer:

Rs 3500 & Rs 3250

Step-by-step explanation:

A man invests rs.6750 , partly in shares of 6% at rs.140 and partly in shares of 5% at 125 rs. if his total income is rs 280 , how much has he invested in each

Assumption dividend is on share price of Rs 100

Let say investment in A  = X   Rs

Then investment in other = 6750 - X  Rs

Share of A bought = X/140

Dividend on X/140 shares  = 6 * X/140  = 3X/70

Share of B bought = (6750-X)/125 = 54 - X/125

Dividend on 54 - X/125 shares  = 5 * (54 - X/125) = 270 - X/25

3X/70  + 270 - X/25  = 280

=> (X/350)(15 - 14) = 10

=> X = 3500

6750 - 3500 = 3250

Rs 3500 invested in one

& Rs 3250 invested in other
