GivEn:-

  • The distance between the mirror and image, AB is 5m

To find:-

  • If the person moves 2 m towards the plane mirror, what would be the distance between the person and his image.

SoluTion:-

\star\;{\underline{\sf{\purple{According\;to\; Question\;-}}}}

☯ The distance moves towards the mirror is 2m.

As we know that,

The giVen mirror is plane therefore, distance b/w image and mirror is equals to distance b/w object and mirror. This is because, plane mirror always form image equals to object.

Therefore,

★ Distance b/w image and object is = 2 × Distance b/w image and mirror.

★ When person(object) moves towards mirror then image of the givEn object (person) also moves towards mirror.

So we can say that,

✩ Total Distance (AB) = 2 × AC = 2 × 5 = 10cm.

✩ Now here, image and object both moves towards mirror by the distance 4cm.

☯ Distance between the person and his image is,

\dashrightarrow\sf Total\; Distance - 4cm\\\\ \dashrightarrow\sf 10 cm - 4cm\\\\ \dashrightarrow\bf \pink{6\;cm}\;\bigstar

\dag The Distance b/w person and his image is 6cm.

Here, when image or object moves towards the mirror their size also decrease with distance.

\rule{200}{4}
