1. A rhombus shaped sheet with perimeter 24 cm and one diagonal 10 cm , is painted on both sides at the rate of Rs. 5 per cm2. Find the cost of painting

Solution

One side of rhombus= 24/4= 6cm

Now,,applying Pythagoras theorm in one of the triangle.

side ^2= 5^2+ other ^2

=> 36 = 25+ other^2

=> other^2= 11

=> other= root11

so,,other diagonal= 2root11.

Area= 1/*d1*d2

= 1/2* 2root11* 10

= 10*root 11*2 (both sde area)

20root11 cm^2

cost of painting= 20root11* 5= rs 100*root 11.
