1 - A roller coaster moves on a certain section of its track with an average speed of 12 m/s. How much distance does it cover in 5.5 s

2-In a game of billiards you give the ball a speed of 0.76 m/s. How much time does it take for ball to cover a distance of 0.23 m?

3-What is the velocity of an object that moves from 73 m to 62 m in 12 s?

4-A comet is cruising through the solar system at a speed of 50,000 km/hr for 4 hours. what is the total distance traveled by the comet?

5-A finch rides on the back of a Galapagos tortoise, which walks at the stately pace of 0.060 m/s. After 1.2 minutes the finch tires of the tortoise's slow pace, and it takes flight, traveling in the same direction for another 1.2 minutes at 13 m/s. what was the average speed of the finch over the entire 2.4 minute interval?

Question 1:

 \sf \: distance = avg. \: v \times time

 \sf  \implies\: distance = 12 \times 5.5

 \sf  \implies\: distance = 66 \: m

Distance travelled is 66 metres

Question 2:

 \sf time =  \dfrac{distance}{velocity}

 \sf  \implies time =  \dfrac{0.23}{0.76}

 \sf  \implies time  \approx  0.3 \: sec

So, time taken is approximately 0.3 sec.

Question 3:

 \sf \: velocity =  \dfrac{displacement}{time}

 \sf  \implies \: velocity =  \dfrac{change \: in \: position}{time}

 \sf  \implies \: velocity =  \dfrac{73 - 62}{12}

 \sf  \implies \: velocity =  \dfrac{11}{12}

 \sf  \implies \: velocity  \approx 0.92 \: m {s}^{ - 1}

So, velocity is 0.92 m/s.
