1)A student recorded the weight of dry raisins as 5.4 gm and on soaking them for 4 to 5 hours the weight was 7.6 gm. Calculate percentage of water imbibed by the raisins.

1. mass of dry raisins = 5.4 g
mass of raisins after soaking = 7.6g
mass of water imbibed = 7.6 - 5.4 = 2.2g

percentage of water imbibed = (2.2/5.4)*100 =40.74%

2. When the player lowers his hand, it increases the time of catching. And hence the force acting on the hand reduces. So to reduce the force, he lowers his hand.
