Answer:

1) (i) The type of fish farming observed by the student is composite fish culture

(ii) The advantages of composite fish culture is that the species of fishes are selcted such that they don't compete for food among themselves having different food habits.

(iii) The main problem with composite fish culture is that most of the species of fish breed only during monsoon. Farmers solve such problem by  breeding these fish using hormonal stimulation. This has ensured the supply of pure fish seed in desired quantities.

2) (a)  Two common sources from which fish are captured are :

          • From natural resources, this is called capture fishing

          • By fish farming, this is called cutlure fishery

3) The characterstics of Italian bee variety are :

• They have high honey collection capacity

• They sting somewhat less

• They can stay in a given beehive for a long periods and breed very well.

4)  A factor which affect the quality of honey produced is the pasturage (the flowers available to the bees for nectar and pollen collection).
