The total amount = rs 1,60,000
The amount is divided in the ratio 3:5
Let the first share be rs.3x
then the second share be rs.5x
∴3x + 5x = 160000
⇒8x = 160000
⇒x = 160000/8
∴x = rs.20000
the first and the smaller share
⇒3x = 3* 20000
∴the smaller share = rs.60000
2)sol - Length of the rectangle = 40cm
Breadth (width) = 20cm
The ratio of length and width = 40:20
2:1
The amount is divided in the ratio 3:5
