Answer:

Plastic is the main source of garbage.

Explanation:

Between 1950 and 2018, around 6.3 billion tonnes of plastic were manufactured worldwide, with 9% and 12% of that being recycled and burnt, respectively. Plastic production, trash generation, and pollution are all on the rise due to rising human population and persistent demand for plastics and plastic items. In this paper, we have reviewed the most relevant literatures on the various types of plastics in production, hazardous chemical constituents, prevalent disposal methods, and the negative effects of these constituents on air, water, soil, organisms, and human health in relation to the various disposal methods. We also looked at papers that looked at the environmental and public health implications of plastic elements rather than plastics themselves. Toxic chemicals such as phthalates, heavy metals, bisphenol A, brominated flame retardants, nonylphenol, polychlorinated biphenylethers,  dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene, phenanthrene, and others are found in a variety of plastics used in the production of many consumable products such as medical devices, food packaging, and water bottles. Annually, an estimated 8 million tonnes of plastic are thrown into the ocean, causing habitat degradation and eventually affecting aquatic animals. Long-term use and high-temperature exposure of plastics and plastic items can cause harmful chemical elements to leak into food, drinks, and water. The indiscriminate disposal of plastics on land and open-air burning can result in harmful compounds being released into the air, posing a public health risk. This study also includes proposals for worldwide plastic waste reduction and control.
