1. A tradesman sells one kind of sugar at Rs. 9.60 per kg and loses 20 p.c. and
another kind at Rs. 14.00 per kg. and gains 25 p.c. If he mixes the two sugar
in equal proportions and sells the mixture at Rs. 17.40 per kg. what will be his
gain p.c.?

Answer:

c.p of 2 kg of mixture : rs

(9.60 * 100/80 + 14.00 * 100/125)

=rs 12 + 11.2 = rs 23.2

c.p of 1 kg mixture= ( 23.2/2) =rs 11.6

so, Gain percentage =rs ( 17.40 - 11.6/11.6 *100)

Answer = rs 50 %
