transparent object does not form image because they do not block the light. The shadow is formed when the light is blocked by an object. in transparent object the light passes through the object.

Yes it will, any object gets a shadow when it is opaque or translucent in nature. A transparent object will not create any shadow, as light will pass straight through the object, but such transparent objects do not allow all the light to pass through them. But they still interact with light through refraction. Refraction is what makes transparent things visible to our eyes. Refraction also enables clear objects to cast shadows. As there is no such material which is completely transparent so any material (glass for eg. ) casts a shadow.

Hope it helps.
